CEA Applauds Passage of Senate E-Warranty Act

The following statement is attributed to Veronica O’Connell, vice president of government and political affairs, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), regarding Senate passage of the E-Warranty Act of 2015:
“We thank Senators Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) for introducing this bipartisan bill, and applaud the Senate for passing legislation to allow manufacturers to post warranties online. The E-Warranty Act of 2015 is common sense legislation that modernizes warranty requirements by directing the Federal Trade Commission to give manufacturers the option to meet legal notice requirements by posting warranties on their companies’ websites. This will reduce paper usage, help our environment and provide easy access to product warranties. We now ask the House to address and pass this consumer-friendly legislation as quickly as possible.”
