Kimball Electronics Opens New Operation in Romania
November 4, 2015 | Globe NewswireEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Kimball Electronics announced today the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of a new operation in Romania. “We are very excited to be making this investment in Romania,” stated Janusz Kasprzyk, Vice President of European Operations. “The new facility in Romania will be an excellent complement to our existing operation in Poland and will provide our customers with additional manufacturing options within Europe.”
The location of the new facility is in Olympia Park, Remetea Mare, near the Timisoara airport. The site includes a 6,150 square meter facility that will contain multiple state-of-the art production lines, an engineering and quality laboratory, and warehouse space.
Production will begin before the end of the calendar year. Products will begin shipping during the first quarter of calendar year 2016. The Kimball Electronics – Romania facility leadership team has been in place and worked closely with customers throughout the design and construction of the facility.
“To manage this significant investment, we have built a very strong and experienced leadership team who has been involved in all aspects of the design and construction of the facility. We are very excited to have you meet our team, tour the facility, and understand our growth plans,” stated Dan Copocean, General Manager for Kimball Electronics – Romania.
The new Kimball Electronics – Romania facility will focus on the manufacture of durable electronics with the same focus on standards of excellence for quality, reliability, and on-time delivery as all Kimball Electronics facilities around the world. The facility will ultimately serve customers in all four of the Kimball Electronics market verticals: Automotive, Industrial, Medical, and Public Safety.
“The addition of Romania is a natural fit in our strategic plan to support the growth initiatives of our customers and Kimball Electronics. We are confident that we are building a capable and competent team here. On behalf of our 37 employees here in Romania and our more than 4,400 employees worldwide, we welcome you to our newest Kimball Electronics operation,” stated Don Charron, Chairman and CEO.
