Lenovo, Inventec Enhance Partnership to Compete for Server Orders

Lenovo is strengthening its partnership with Taiwan-based ODM Inventec to compete with China-based vendors Inspur and Sugon Information Industry for data center server orders from Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent, according to Digitimes.
Inventec will be be specifically responsible for R&D and ODM production. To better serve Lenovo, Inventec will focus less on its white-box server business in China.
In addition to Lenovo and Inventec's partnership, Quanta Computer and Wistron are mainly pushing white-box server products in China's datacenter market, while Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is cooperating with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Digitimes added.
