Compal to Build Smartphone Factory in India

Compal Electronics will set up a factory in New Delhi, India, specifically for assembly of semi knock down (SKD) smartphone units shipped from Compal's factory in eastern China, according to a Digitimes report. Company president Ray Chen said production is scheduled to begin in March 2016, and and initial monthly capacity will be 500,000 units.
The report added that Compal has suspended a plan to establish smartphone production lines in Vietnam.
