Avnet Names Chuck Delph President of Electronics Marketing Americas

Avnet, Inc. a leading global technology distributor, today announced Chuck Delph has been appointed president of Avnet Electronics Marketing (EM) for the Americas region. He will be responsible for the strategy and business activities within the EM group in the region and report directly to Gerry Fay, president of Avnet EM worldwide, effective July 3, 2016.
Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas is a highly successful business region of Avnet's components operating group with annual revenue of $4.9 billion for fiscal year 2015, ended June 27, 2015. The region includes all the Americas, selling electronic components (semiconductors, IP&E), embedded solutions and associated design chain and supply chain services.
“Chuck brings a high level of energy, passion and industry experience to this position – which is a powerful combination,” Fay said. “His diverse background and proven success in the Americas market will serve us, our customers and partners well going forward.”
Delph brings more than 24 years of electronics distribution industry experience to this position. Since 2009, he has successfully led the EM Americas components selling organization, serving as senior vice president, executive sales for the Americas. Prior to his current role, Delph held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within Avnet, from district manager to regional manager to area director. In 2011, he received the prestigious Avnet Chairman’s Award.
Delph succeeds Ed Smith, a 25-year electronics industry veteran who has held the role since February 2009. Smith has been promoted to senior vice president of Avnet embedded solutions globally, effective July 3.
