Eunil Introduces ELM-800 Laser Marker
June 23, 2016 | EunilEstimated reading time: 1 minute
The Eunil in-line ELM-800 Laser Marker is an automation machine used to add a barcode, QR, 1D, or 2D on PCBs. It is essential for traceability as marking data will not be worn off over time. Additionally, the system has minimized marking cycle time by using a laser head with a moving X/Y axis robot and high speed running conveyor.
A barcode scanner is able to be integrated as an option, as well as a data communication which transfers marking data to production management systems. Other options available include a vision camera, PCB orientation verification, and precise marking by fiducial mark.
The ELM-800 also has a space efficient design with compact machine length. Laser marking traceability is becoming popular in the industry, as it is a cost effective alternative to labels. This eliminates the need to replace ink or label paper, and eliminates the need for manual labor.

Nolan’s Notes: Coming to Terms With AI
05/07/2024 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesHow fast do things move in the world of data analytics? Here’s an example. We’ve been planning this issue on artificial intelligence for the past few months, and, in fact, I had already written this column about a month ago. Then I went to IPC APEX EXPO and upended it all. I originally had compared AI to drag racing in that (CPU) horsepower and new (data) vehicles have steadily delivered higher performance competition. That seemed pretty accurate given how generative AI models dominated the popular media with amazing results—and sometimes spectacular crashes.
