American Industrial Systems Inc. (AIS), a supplier of human machine interfaces (HMI), industrial PCs and industrial automation control and monitoring systems, has announced that Ennoconn Corp., a subsidiary of contract electronics manufacturer Foxconn Technology Group in Taiwan and an industrial hardware systems and solutions provider to various vertical market applications, has acquired a 60 percent stake in AIS.
The combination of AIS's visualization and HMI technologies with Ennoconn's strength will establish a new global leader in Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 markets under Ennoconn's guidance and management. Ennoconn collaborates with its own elite group of subsidiary companies under the corporate banner of the Foxconn IPC Business Group. The global strategic partnership now officially makes AIS a subsidiary of Ennoconn. Foxconn Technology group is widely known as the largest contract electronics manufacturer in the world.
The Internet of Things which includes the network of physical devices, vehicles, buildings, equipment and factories -- embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity enables the collection and exchange of massive data sets, which has provided unprecedented opportunities for companies to harness this information to create new products, services and revenue sources. The total market for IoT solutions covers a massive scope of products, industries, applications and markets, requiring a collaboration and partnership by numerous different suppliers with various core competencies. Both AIS and Ennoconn have been migrating product roadmaps and portfolios to capture the burgeoning opportunities within IIoT and Industry 4.0 markets. The shared IIoT and Industry 4.0 strategy, vision and leadership led to a natural progression of discussions and the agreement to form the global partnership.
“We have known Business Continuity (BC), Business Intelligence (BI) analysts and cost-efficiency have become essential demands for supporting IIoT platforms. With Ennoconn's investment, AIS will formally join the world's largest electronics manufacturing company Foxconn Technology Group. Foxconn is globally renowned for its superior manufacturing capabilities, cost-efficiency, and superior quality. It is anticipated that with the collaboration of this unparalleled IoT portfolio, AIS is poised to have a significant impact in the HMI and Industrial PC industry,” said Nelson Tsay, AIS founder and CEO.
Steve Chu, Ennoconn CEO, added: "The new investment is a key growth path in our long-term business development strategies, and follows a significant number of the other similar strategic investments made by Ennoconn Corporation in companies with Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT) as their core business focus. Under Ennoconn's management, the Foxconn IPC Technology Group along now with AIS, are positioned to become a dominant leader and provider of global, total IIoT and Industry 4.0 solutions."
Founded in 2005, AIS quickly established itself as a world class provider of open architecture HMI, Industrial Touch Panels and visualization solutions. As the first company to incorporate multi-touch touchscreen technologies in HMI systems, AIS secured its position as a leading edge, open platform HMI technology company in the key markets they serve. The company also procured partnerships and private label agreements with some of the largest industrial equipment OEMs, HMIs and SCADA software makers; and Aerospace, Military/Defense, Railway and Government agencies. Their keen insight on market trends, extensive range of HMI solutions and explosive growth positioned them as a prime partner for Ennoconn in their quest to provide a comprehensive solution set for IIoT and Industry 4.0 markets globally.
