James Long Promoted to VP and GM of Sypris Electronics

Sypris Solutions Inc. has promoted James M. Long to the position of Vice President and General Manager of its subsidiary, Sypris Electronics LLC, effective August 16, 2016. Long will be located in Tampa, Florida and will report to Jeffrey T. Gill, the president and CEO of Sypris Solutions.
Long previously served as Vice President of Operations of Sypris Electronics since 2010. Prior to Sypris, he was based in Shenzhen, China for three years and served as Vice President and General Manager of Optical Technology for Sanmina-SCI, and previous to that as Vice President and General Manager for JDS Uniphase.
Long holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Providence College and an MBA from the University of Hartford.
Commenting on the announcement, Gill said, “We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Jim to the role of Vice President and General Manager. His leadership and proven track record with achieving desired results with domestic, as well as international, industrial and high-tech organizations will be invaluable in overseeing the continued development of Sypris Electronics into what we believe will be a larger, increasingly profitable company.”
