smartTec Showcases Universal's Fuzion at E-16 Electronics Exhibition in Denmark
September 1, 2016 | Universal InstrumentsEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Universal Instruments’ Channel Partner, smartTec Nordic A/S will highlight two of the company’s flexible production solutions on Stand A-1345 at the 2016 E-16 trade show to be held at the Odense Congress Center, Denmark on September 6–8. Universal’s Fuzion Platform will form the foundation of a full-process SMT production line that will be showcased in a 2000-square meter section of the show floor where smartTec and five leading suppliers to the Danish electronics industry have partnered under the banner “Production in Denmark”. smartTec will also demonstrate Universal’s Polaris Assembly Cell, which delivers efficient automation of traditionally-manual, back-end assembly processes.
On Wednesday, September 7, Universal’s Director of Automation Solutions, Stan Earley will share some insight on how local manufacturers can begin to effectively integrate automation into their respective production models. The presentation, entitled “Automation Technologies Trends – How to Use in Denmark” will focus on small to mid-sized companies and will be delivered at 13.30–14.30 pm in Hall A.
“This is a very special show and we’re really looking forward to it,” said smartTec Managing Director, Lars Bondergaard. “By teaming up with the very best in the industry, we’ve been able to raise the bar and create a superior experience for the show attendees. We want to break down the barriers and change the perception that Denmark is a high-cost region where only a select few companies can manufacture successfully.” Bondegaard continued, “We have already large OEMs successfully operating in Denmark. With the right investment in adaptable equipment technologies and software that maximizes efficiency, even the smallest companies can implement cost-effective flexible production and enjoy a high level of profitability here.”
Universal’s Fuzion is the industry’s most adaptable and capable platform, with a portfolio featuring single, dual and quad-beam variants with throughputs up to 140,000 cph per module. Fuzion delivers best-in-class cost per placement, flexibility and accuracy with a comprehensive toolset to accelerate NPI and achieve 100% first-pass yield. The production line on Stand A-1345 includes the Fuzion1-30, a powerful solution for NPI /high-mix environments with throughputs up to 35,000 cph and large board support, as well as the flexible Fuzion1-11, which features extended odd-form handling and places parts up to 150mm square and 40mm tall. In the oddform automation area, the Polaris Servo-Gripper Assembly Cell will be shown building LEGO® models of the Fuzion Platform.
