Stadium Expands Wireless Engineering Team at Kista Design Center

Stadium Group has expanded its wireless engineering team at the company’s Regional Design Centre (RDC) in Kista Science City, Stockholm, which opened earlier this year. The new appointments add award-winning hardware design expertise and over two decades of mechanical design experience to the team, further strengthening the company’s high-caliber wireless connectivity and RF engineering capabilities.
Dr. Peter Lindberg has joined as senior hardware engineer. He has over 16 years’ experience in the wireless research and design sector. Previous roles include Senior Hardware Engineer at ABB, Firmware Engineer at TE Connectivity and Staff Engineer, Advanced Technologies Group – Laird Technologies. Educated in Sweden, he has achieved a Ph.D. in engineering physics, microwave technology, and had over 34 articles published and 51 patents registered. He has also achieved several awards including recipient of the best paper award at the IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology, EDN Top 100 Hot Products Award 2007 (as the inventor of Laird Technologies’ internal active terminal antenna for FM radio); and he was the recipient of Wireless industry recognised R.W.P King’s Award in 2006.
Fredrik Palm, senior mechanical engineer, has 22 years’ technical experience in the telecoms sector. His previous roles include Mechanical Designer at Piab AB, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Laird Technologies, Mechanical Designer at both Centurion Ltd and Allgon Mobile Communications AB. Palm is an experienced engineer with proven expertise in design for manufacture for Asia and process development including production set up, tooling fabrication and supplier assessments.
Kjell Karlsson, who joined Stadium as Managing Director for the Group’s wireless business earlier this year, commented, “Together, Peter and Fredrik have accumulated nearly 40 years’ experience in the wireless field. These appointments are a further boost to the engineering excellence of our technical team in Kista, enabling the growth of our design-led offering in the wireless M2M sector.”
