Cogiscan, the leading connectivity and TTC solutions provider for the electronics manufacturing industry, has partnered with ASM, Cyberoptics, Heller and C2MI to implement a live showcase of Smart Factory solutions for electronics manufacturers.
This strategic collaboration results in a superior joint-solution that delivers seamless machine and software connectivity, integrated via a robust data management platform to a complete suite of applications, including traceability, material management and analytics among others. The Cogiscan TTC platform will be used to centralize all the information collected from the SMT Line and will share this data with C2MI enterprise systems, including their ERP and MES.
The resulting ecosystem of best-of-breed solutions from leading technology providers truly represent the smart connected factory of the future, delivering increased quality and productivity while reducing waste of time and resources. The Smart SMT line is leveraging the latest technologies and industry standards such as IPC CFX and Hermes.
For many years Cogiscan has partnered with leading machine vendors such as ASM SMT Solutions. Several elements of Cogiscan’s technology are integrated in the standard product portfolio of ASM including CFX machine connectivity which will be part of this showcase, and with the MES from Critical Manufacturing, an ASMPT company.
“In 2019 ASM installed a best-in-class SMT production line at C2MI, consisting of a DEK NeoHorizon Printer, ASM ProcessLens SPI and 2 SIPLACE TX Placement Machines. As a next step we are now happy to participate in this collaboration to build a Smart SMT Factory solution with ASM’s and partner’s leading-edge SMT equipment and software applications. Using industry standards such as IPC-2591 CFX and IPC-HERMES-9852 will provide seamless connectivity between equipment and software applications of different vendors and, thus, enable further smart factory workflows,” explained Thomas Marktscheffel, Director Product Management at ASM Assembly Systems.
“This new live showcase of Smart Factory solutions for electronics manufacturers is confirming our role in supporting the microelectronic manufacturing industry as one of our main objectives is to promote collaboration and synergy among all parties, aiming the rapid commercialization of value-added products. We are very pleased to share our facility with leaders in the Smart Factory market and contribute to the development of next generation manufacturing lines,” stated Marie-Josée Turgeon, VP of Operations and Deputy General Manager at C2MI
Martin Drolet, Director of Application and Tech Support at Cogiscan, added, “We are very excited about this new collaboration. This will provide a real-life demonstration of the smart connected factory for all manufacturers and technology providers that are interested in seeing the future. This leading-edge SMT line will also be the perfect location to implement and test new developments released by Cogiscan and our partners.”
“We are pleased that CyberOptics’ SQ3000™ 3D AOI system with Multi-Reflection Suppression™ (MRS™) sensor technology has been chosen as the best-in-class solution for integration into the SMT smart connected factory of the future,” said Dr. Subodh Kulkarni, President and CEO, CyberOptics Corporation. “Customers have recognized significant improvements in yields, processes and productivity with our inspection and metrology systems, and we are delighted our technology platform will be demonstrated in this live smart factory.”
