Advanced Electronics Company Appoints Eng. Ziad Al-Musallam as CEO

The Board of Directors of the Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) company, announced the appointment of Eng. Ziad bin Houmod Al-Musallam as CEO managing the company's business effective March 18, 2021, to succeed H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, who was appointed, by a royal decree, as Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation with the rank of a minister.
Eng. Walid Abukhaled, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), said: "I congratulate Eng. Ziad Al-Musallam for assuming the CEO's duties, and praise his extensive expertise, many achievements, and long career, most of which he spent with AEC. I wish Eng. Al-Musallam, all the best, and I look forward to working with him to continue strengthening our company's leading position in the fields of electronics, technology, and manufacturing industries, accelerating the pace of our operations, and enhancing our contribution to localizing 50% of the Kingdom's military spending as part of the Vision 2030 objectives."

He contributed to strengthening the company's position in terms of human and knowledge localization, raising the company's contribution to the local content, and contributing to achieving the ambitious goals of Vision 2030.", added Eng. Walid Abukhaled
Eng. Al-Musallam has held the position of Executive Vice President of Engineering & Operations since 2017, and previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Engineering and Development of the company between 2014 and 2017, where he was responsible for managing the company's technical and engineering operations through the Engineering and Development Department. He also held the position of Senior Vice President and acting General Manager of the Energy Business Unit between 2015 and 2017, wherein he supervised the study and approval of industrial products in the energy sector. He joined the company's Operations Department as a test engineer in in 1991. Eng. Al-Musallam began his career in 1988, working as a design engineer at the National Information Center at the Ministry of Interior.
Eng. Al-Musallam has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has attended management programs from INSEAD as well as several other technical and management courses.
Eng. Al-Musallam expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors for their confidence and conveyed that he is looking forward to strengthening the company's leading position in electronics, technology, and industries. And to intensify its role as a major player in achieving the relevant goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and support the AEC's three decades of achievements.
