Wistron to Acquire Kaohsiung OptoElectronics

Wistron announced to acquire 100% shares of Kaohsiung OptoElectronics Inc. (KOE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JDI Taiwan Inc. This acquisition will be made through Wise Cap Limited Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wistron. The transaction value is tentatively set at JPY 8.0 billion and the final purchase price will be confirmed after related parties complete the due diligence and sign the Share Purchase Agreement. The deal will proceed to obtain the relevant authority approvals as required, with estimated completion by the end of the third quarter.
Through this deal, Wistron will further strengthen the partnership with Japan Display Inc. (JDI), expanding the LCM business scope to automotive and industrial-related product lines. In addition, this transaction enriches the company’s continuous effort on global footprint optimization. After the transaction, Wistron will continue to expand the capacity and product portfolio of KOE, and retain the employees based on the agreement between both parties.
