Plexus Earns AS9100 for Engineering Solutions in Europe
June 16, 2015 | PlexusEstimated reading time: 2 minutes

Plexus Corp. a global provider of optimized Product Realization solutions, announced today that its Livingston Design Center in Scotland has achieved AS9100 certification. This center provides engineering solutions and award-winning customer service excellence to many of the world's leading branded product companies.
Businesses that operate within the highly regulated aerospace and defense industry demand the highest quality standards when designing and manufacturing their products. Achieving AS9100 certification is a reflection of the superior capabilities of an electronics design, manufacturing and aftermarket services provider like Plexus. The AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) is widely used to drive continuous product and process improvements within the industry.
"This is a noteworthy milestone for Plexus. This achievement demonstrates our continued commitment to providing high quality engineering solutions with our talented design team in the EMEA region." commented Oliver Mihm, Plexus Regional President in EMEA. "Many companies in the aerospace and defense industry have attained AS9100 certification for their manufacturing processes; however, achieving it for engineering services is not yet standard practice. Achieving AS9100 certification for our Livingston Design Center strengthens our competitive position in Europe and enables our aerospace and defense customers to take advantage of our full Product Realization Value Stream of services."
"We are extremely proud of this accomplishment as we continue to identify new ways to meet the demands of our customers in the aerospace and defense industry." added Dan Lewis, Defense/Security/Aerospace Market Sector Vice President for Plexus. "The AS9100 certification aligns with our strategy to continue to expand our aerospace and defense business within the region and confirms that our engineering processes in EMEA can meet the most stringent of quality requirements."
This is the second Plexus design center to be awarded the certification, with the design center in Neenah, Wisconsin achieving certification in October 2014. The certificate complements the AS9100 certification for manufacturing solutions already attained at many of Plexus' manufacturing facilities in the America, European and Asia-Pacific regions.
