July 17, 2015 | Business WireEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc., has been awarded a 2014 Total Cost of Ownership (TCOO) Supplier Award from Celestica, a global leader in the delivery of end-to-end product lifecycle solutions. Celestica recognized Avnet as Best Distributor Partner through the awards program, which recognizes suppliers that support Celestica’s TCOO strategy and demonstrate excellence in quality, delivery, technology, service, pricing and flexibility.
“Avnet is proud to be recognized by Celestica,” said Lynn Torrel, senior vice president, global supply chain and strategic accounts, Avnet Electronics Marketing. “Receiving the Best Distributor Partner award underscores our commitment to delivering unique supply chain solutions and design chain services to help Celestica reduce the time to market for their customers. Our goal is to achieve even greater results as we continue to support Celestica globally.”
This marks the ninth year of Celestica’s TCOOTM Supplier Awards program, which evaluates and recognizes the top performers in Celestica’s global network of over 4,000 suppliers. Celestica’s TCOOTM system is focused on evaluating supplier performance by measuring the total cost to produce, deliver and support products and services beyond the supplier invoice price. As such, it considers the following supplier attributes: quality, delivery, technology, service, pricing and flexibility.
“Congratulations to Avnet for being recognized as the Best Distributor Partner,” said Paul Blom, Chief Procurement Officer, Celestica. “This is the second consecutive year that Avnet has been recognized with a TCOOTM award. In the spirit of continuous improvement, Avnet achieved significant improvements in 2014 in several areas of their TCOOTM scorecard to provide best-in-class pricing, consistent service levels across all geographies and customized supply chain solutions.”

I-Connect007 Editor’s Choice: Five Must-Reads for the Week
10/31/2025 | Nolan Johnson, I-Connect007Last week, the IMPACT conference took place in Taipei, bringing together advanced packaging experts from around the globe to share their knowledge. We’ll be bringing you post-conference coverage over the next few weeks, so look for that in our newsletters, and in the Advanced Electronic Packaging Digest. Other news seemed to have the U.S. at the center of the global discussions. My picks start in Phoenix, where TSMC, NVIDIA, and Amkor are all scrambling to establish new capabilities. There’s nothing like a strong demand signal to cause build-out, and AI chips are doing exactly that.
