Prototron Circuits Chooses Frontline’s InSight PCB Pre-Cam Solution
January 10, 2018 | OrbotechEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Prototron Circuits has chosen InSight PCB Pre-CAM Assessment Solution to complement its CAM operation. Developed by Frontline PCB Solutions, a joint venture between Orbotech and Mentor, InSight PCB is a web-based pre-CAM solution that reduces cycle time of Pre-CAM to accelerate both the quotation and CAM process for PCB manufacturers.
“We noted significant performance improvements in our CAM processes during the evaluation period with InSight PCB,” said Kim O’Neil, General Manager of Prototron Circuits’ Tucson, Arizona facility. “InSight PCB is a welcome enhancement to our existing Frontline CAM pre-production environment that will help us get accurate CAM project quotations to our customers more rapidly.”
“An experienced CAM operator is generally required to provide quotations for complex PCB designs,” said Sharon Cohen, President of Orbotech West. “With InSight PCB, Prototron Circuits will have automated management and assessment of CAM data so that their sales and engineering staff can independently respond to customers more rapidly. That’s a great advantage in a fast-moving industry where demands are increasingly complex.”
About InSight PCB
InSight PCB is a web-based tool for managing and assessing incoming customer PCB data for non CAM experts. From automatically retrieving comprehensive product information to generating precise summary reports, InSight PCB empowers Sales and Engineering people to work more independently, efficiently and profitably. The result: faster and more accurate quoting and product engineering, complete CAM data in minutes, early detection of manufacturing problems and increased throughput.

About Orbotech Ltd.
Orbotech Ltd. is a leading global supplier of yield-enhancing and process-enabling solutions for the manufacture of electronics products. Orbotech provides cutting-edge solutions for use in the manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCBs), flat panel displays (FPDs), and semiconductor devices (SDs), designed to enable the production of innovative, next-generation electronic products and improve the cost effectiveness of existing and future electronics production processes. Orbotech’s core business lies in enabling electronic device manufacturers to inspect and understand PCBs and FPDs and to verify their quality (‘reading’); pattern the desired electronic circuitry on the relevant substrate and perform threedimensional shaping of metalized circuits on multiple surfaces (‘writing’); and utilize advanced vacuum deposition and etching processes in SD and semiconductor manufacturing (‘connecting’). Orbotech refers to this ‘reading’, ‘writing’ and ‘connecting’ as enabling the ‘Language of Electronics’. For more information, click here and here.
