Colour-Coded Auto Blade Fuse Holders
August 19, 2016 | Keystone Electronics Corp.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Identification of automotive blade fuses on a PCB is now simplified with Keystone Electronics incorporating coloured insulator bodies to their successful series of low insertion force, reliable and compact SMT and THM automotive blade fuse holders.
These new products are available in surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole (THM) mounting styles for PCB applications. Holders are supplied in colours to match the colour-code standards of automotive fuses: 10 (red),15 (blue), and 20 (yellow) Amperes. These new holders act as a quick identifier for users, installers and maintenance personnel in fuse identification on electronic devices. There is also a black "universal" holder.
The colored insulators also help to protect contacts and fuses as well as reduce assembly time. Holders are supplied with tin-nickel-plated brass contacts designed to secure and support the installed fuse from shock and vibration. The coloured Insulators are made of UL 94 V-0 Nylon and are uniquely designed to accept "mini", low profile "mini", and regular-style automotive blade fuses.
