December 7, 2016 | Torenko and AssociatesEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Torenko and Associates, a leading manufacturers’ representative organization specializing in the sales and marketing of premier electronic assembly equipment, production tools, test, repair, inspection, and consumable products, announces that it has signed on its 90th Mexican national account for SMT equipment.
Torenko and Associates is a large and expanding organization that covers the southern central U.S. states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and the border and interior of Mexico. Torenko partners with Vectralis Engineering in Mexico for applications and service support.
There has been a trend in Mexico of new Mexican national EMS and OEM accounts getting into the SMT industry during the last several years. Torenko has helped these accounts with their start-up operations by supplying them with their SMT equipment and process needs.
Ron Torenko, President of Torenko and Associates, commented, “Torenko has committed to bringing the best of the best in SMT equipment to Mexico, and the engineering community has awarded us accordingly. We have constantly promoted one-stop shopping and provided the best service and support in the market.”
Torenko has been covering Mexico for more than 30 years when the first SMT lines were in Delphi, RCA and Zenith Electronics along the border. The company followed the growth of SMT into the interior, along with the SMT engineers from the border. “We are grateful to our principals and will try to continue to bring the best in equipment, service and support to Mexico. We look forward to line 100,” Torenko added.

The Chemical Connection: Sales Organization from a Capital Equipment Perspective
07/22/2025 | Don Ball -- Column: The Chemical ConnectionThe sales organization for a capital equipment supplier to the PCB industry tends to differ slightly from a supplier that manufactures and sells circuit boards to their customers. After all, our sales depend on the printed circuit board manufacturer’s sales. If business falls off, you tend to delay or reconsider the need for new or upgraded capital equipment, and then our sales fall off. If your sales go up and you need to increase capacity or replace old equipment, our sales also trend upwards.

Smart Automation: The Power of Data Integration in Electronics Manufacturing
06/24/2025 | Josh Casper -- Column: Smart AutomationAs EMS companies adopt automation, machine data collection and integration are among the biggest challenges. It’s now commonplace for equipment to collect and output vast amounts of data, sometimes more than a manufacturer knows what to do with. While many OEM equipment vendors offer full-line solutions, most EMS companies still take a vendor-agnostic approach, selecting the equipment companies that best serve their needs rather than a single-vendor solution.
