Lite-On Technology Reports 6% Growth in 2016 Sales

Lite-On Technology has reported December consolidated revenue of NT$21.39 billion ($667 million), up by 12% year-on-year, and marking a second monthly record high in 2016. Thanks to stable market demand, cumulative sales for 2016 reached NT$229.54 billion ($7.16 billion), up by 6% YoY. Fourth quarter revenue reached NT$63.27 billion ($1.97 billion), an increase of 1% over the previous quarter, and up by 10% compared to the same period in the previous year.
Lite-On’s optoelectronics segment, which contributed a 26% share of Lite-On’s overall revenue, posted approximately 20% revenue growth in December.
The IT segment, which accounted for 51% of total sales, went up by 10% YoY, mainly driven by shipment growth of cloud computing products, on the back of increased sales of high-end server and networking power management systems as well as high-end server enclosures.
Finally, the storage business segment improved by 20% as a result of increased demand for storage devices.
