KIC to Demo Smart Factory Tech at IPC APEX EXPO 2018

KIC today announced plans to showcase the benefits of connected smart oven technologies at the 2018 IPC APEX EXPO, scheduled to take place February 27–March 1, 2018 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. An active member of the IPC Connected Factory Exchange (CFX) committee since the beginning, KIC will offer demonstrations of the connected factory, process visibility, traceability and more in Booth 3301 during the three-day event.
The availability of an industry standard shifts the focus from individual machines and processes to a more effective, holistic approach, enabling new benefits previously not possible. For example, while placement machine changeover times have shrunk, the improvements mean little if they stand idle waiting for the reflow oven to stabilize on a new recipe. Sharing data from KIC's oven changeover optimization software with the rest of the line, or MES system, secures reduced line downtime.
