IEC Electronics Posts 49% Growth in Q2 FY2018 Revenues

IEC Electronics Corp. has reported revenues of $31.8 million for the fiscal 2018 second quarter ended March 30, 2018, an increase of 49% as compared to revenues of $21.4 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2017. Gross profit margin was 15.1% as compared to 10.7% in the same quarter last year.

Selling and administrative expenses increased on a dollar basis to $2.9 million but decreased as a percentage of sales to 9.2%, as compared to $2.7 million or 12.5% of sales in the second quarter of fiscal 2017. The company reported net income of $1.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2018, compared to a net loss of $0.6 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2017. 

Revenues for the first six months of fiscal 2018 increased 25% to $52.9 million as compared to $42.3 million in the same period of fiscal 2017. Gross profit margin was 11.9% as compared to 9.6% in the first six months of fiscal 2017, and selling and administrative expenses increased on a dollar basis to $5.7 million but decreased as a percentage of sales to 10.8%, as compared to $5.1 million or 12% of sales in the first six months of fiscal 2017. Net income for the first six months of 2018 was $1.1 million, compared to a net loss of $1.5 million in the same prior year period.
