Epec CEO Donates Scholarship to Vocational Technical High School
May 30, 2018 | PRWEBEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Edward McMahon, CEO of Epec Engineered Technologies donated $6,500 to the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School scholarship fund in celebration of Epec’s 65th anniversary.
In an effort to support the local community and the field of Engineering, the local vocational high school was chosen as a recipient of the donation. Students were selected based upon their service to the school and community as well as for demonstrating academic excellence. The scholarship will be distributed to seven students that completed their studies in engineering, drafting, and machine technology.
The scholarship was conceived as part of Epec’s Engineers of the Future which is a focus on working with students studying STEM related material.
McMahon says, “Our industry relies on a steady flow of new talent, new ideas, and a passion for engineering. I want to ensure that students are able to fulfill their desire to study and eventually work in the field of engineering.”
McMahon is a graduate of the Engineering program at Clarkson University and has worked in the field for decades. Based upon the success of this inaugural scholarship, Epec plans to continue to scholarship in the future and expand to internship and mentorship programs.
