PCB Carolina 2018 Show Floor Sold Out, Biggest Ever
October 31, 2018 | PCB CarolinaEstimated reading time: 1 minute
The planners of PCB Carolina, the area’s largest electronics show, have sold out the 2018 event while increasing the number of tables. The show, free to attendees, is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at NCSU’s McKimmon Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“Last year, we sold all 72 tables, so this year I asked the board if we could add a few more tables for the current year,” said Lance Olive, the marketing director and project manager for the event. "They decided to move the check-in tables into the lobby to make room for more vendors in the main ball room."
The new layout of 78 tables was published and the event coordinators opened vendor registration in March.
“I modified the floor layout to allow for 78 tables,” said Randy Faucette, the IPC RTP Chapter vice president, who also manages the floor plan. “It was a challenge. Last year I thought we had maximized the space, but since we found out we could use the lobby for check-in, we made room on the main floor. We’re all thrilled at the growing interest.”
The planners are making the space at NCSU’s McKimmon Center work for them. “We love the McKimmon Center. It’s conveniently located and the staff is easy to work with,” said Tony Cosentino, IPC RTP Chapter president. “The layout we have is the result of growth and demand, and it works very well."
In each year since 2012, the event has sold 46, 53, 57, 64, 71, 72 and 78 tables, respectively. “The growth gives us an opportunity to improve the diversity of vendor types,” Olive adds. “This growth is a great commentary on the health of our local economy and continued focus on technology in the Carolinas."
According to the website, the show still has a waiting list in case there are cancellations. The website also has a page for interested individuals to subscribe to the news mailing list. Individuals may also register to attend the free event.
PCB Carolina is an annual event held in Raleigh, attracting professionals in the electronics industry, centering on the development, design and production of printed circuit boards and products that contain or interact with them. The event has been sponsored by the non-profit RTP Chapter of IPC since 2001.
