Sparton Wins Awards for Best Company to Work for in Asia and Hand Soldering Skills

Sparton Corporation has earned the 2018 HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award for its Vietnam location as well as first place in the Vietnam IPC Hand Soldering competition.
HR Asia is considered one of the region’s most authoritative publications for human resources professionals, covering 12 markets across Asia. The annual HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award™ is based on data from confidential employee surveys that measure employee engagement, motivation and advocacy on a 5-point scale and include optional open-ended questions.
Employees of the Sparton Vietnam facility, located in the Thuan An city of the Binh Duong province, named several benefits that contribute to high workplace satisfaction, including competitive salary and bonuses, exercise and wellness programs, social activities, charitable opportunities, open communication and robust training programs such as the Kaizen improvement initiative.
Sparton’s Vietnam facility also earned recognition for hand soldering, a skill essential to high quality and reliability in industrial electronic equipment. Le Van Linh won first place in the IPC Hand Soldering competition, held in conjunction with the NEPCON Vietnam 2018 expo.
The IPC Hand Soldering competition recognizes manufacturing workers who have the highest level of skill in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies. Fifty-one participants from 21 well-known electronics companies competed to rework a functional electronics assembly within a 50-minute limit. A panel of independent judges evaluated each assembly based on workmanship, overall functionality, speed of completion and compliance with standards IPC-A-610G, IPC-J-STD-001G, and IPC-A-610G Class 3 criteria.
