Day One, Nothing but Fun: The Show Warms Up
January 30, 2019 | Nolan Johnson, I-Connect007Estimated reading time: 1 minute

The first official day was full of excitement, activity and business getting done. From the exuberant crowd at the ribbon cutting ceremony, to the closing moments of day number one, the show floor was bustling. Spirits were high from both attendees and exhibitors, sending the signal that optimism and business strength are still the industry mood.
As the day progressed, the themes of refinement and evolution kept popping up. While new announcements at the show this year concentrated on either setting the foundation for new applications, or on adding incremental improvements to existing technologies, it was also clear that disruptive change is just over the horizon.
Word on the show floor was that some exhibitors described the show as slow, while others reported being consistently busy. The common thread for the busy exhibitors seemed to be interconnectedness.
For example, the CFX-capable equipment and booths drew crowds; the vendors promoting machine-to-machine communications that weren’t specifically CFX drew plenty of interest from attendees as well.
The I-Connect007 booth mirrored the show floor. All day long, in interview after interview, the staff discussed news and insights from industry leaders, exhibitors and attendees in our booth. Be sure to visit realtimewith.com to view the 24 video interviews including, among others: Atotech’s Roger Massey; Richard DePoto from Uyemura; MacDermid Alpha’s Traian Cucu; Insulectro’s Tim Redern and Kevin M. Miller; Zentech’s James Vaughan; The Opening Ceremony; and iNEMI’s Grace O’Malley.
So, while the weather forecasts around North America caution against extreme cold, the business forecast in San Diego looks bright and busy.
