Altium Launches Altium Design 19.1 and Free Online Design Visualization Tool
June 6, 2019 | Altium LLCEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Altium LLC, a leading provider of electronics design systems for PCB design, today announced the release of Altium Designer 19.1 and the Altium 365 Viewer, a free online tool that allows anyone to view Altium Designer projects on the web.
“Altium is dedicated to bringing high-performance, easy-to-use tools to the electronics design industry,” said Ted Pawela, Chief Operations Officer at Altium. “Altium Designer 19.1 and Altium 365 Viewer further streamline the design to realization process through improving the PCB design experience.”
Incorporating user feedback from the Altium BugCrunch forum, recently launched Altium 19.1 offers a number of enhancements and further improvements to the product’s performance and stability, reducing the occurrence of errors and increasing productive design time and efficiency. Altium Designer 19.1 builds on the stability enhancements in previous versions and reflects the company’s increasing investment of resources into addressing customer-submitted bugs and ideas. Altium continues to encourage users to submit feedback via the Altium BugCrunch forum.
Along with the improvements in stability and performance in Altium Designer 19.1, Altium also released Altium 365 Viewer, a new tool that makes viewing Altium Designer design files easier. Previously, viewing Altium Designer Projects required an Altium Designer License or a traditional read-only viewer license. Altium 365 Viewer offers a simpler way to visualize and share schematics, view printed circuit board designs in 2D and 3D, and monitor bill of materials within a browser through a simple drag-and-drop process, without requiring any software whatsoever. Further, once a design is loaded, the Altium 365 Viewer will automatically link the associated bill of materials to live supply chain information powered by Octopart.
“Altium 365 Viewer also offers the electronics design and development community a glimpse into Altium 365,” said Lawrence Romine, Vice President of Global Marketing. “Currently in beta testing, the Altium 365 cloud-based platform brings convenient collaboration to the entire product development process, from design to the manufacturing floor.”
