In a recent survey, we asked the following question: What PCB data format(s) do you send to your PCB assembly supplier? Here are just a few of the answers, edited slightly for clarity.
- PDF drawings, Excel BOM, and PADS ASCII files.
- A Mentor neutral file.
- Fabmaster.
- One good reason to send fab files: Your assembly provider will often be ordering the bare PCBs.
- The pick-and-place files.
