Jabil Selects Cogiscan for SMT Machine Connectivity to Accelerate Digital Transformation Strategy
May 27, 2021 | CogiscanEstimated reading time: 1 minute

Cogiscan, the leading connectivity and TTC solutions provider for the electronics manufacturing industry, is proud to announce a corporate-wide global machine connectivity initiative for Jabil. As part of Jabil’s digital transformation strategy, they have chosen to install Cogiscan’s Co-NECT technology on 2,000+ SMT machines globally.
As one of the world’s best companies delivering both broad and complex manufacturing solutions, Jabil operates in more than 100 plants in 30 countries. With an installed base of various machinery brands, models and vintages, collecting rich and real-time data is complex. Thus, Jabil looked to a third-party expert to provide a seamless and immediate solution for machine connectivity. .
“After our internal evaluation demonstrated that Cogiscan’s Co-NECT technology would allow us to connect the majority of our SMT equipment within a few months, they became our top choice to accelerate our digital transformation and enable us to move towards a more predictable environment. Additionally, the Co-NECT platform offers the richest data among the alternatives that we evaluated,” says Colin Reid, senior director of digital factory, Jabil.
Why Cogiscan?
Cogiscan’s modular, flexible and vendor-neutral approach to factory connectivity has uniquely positioned them in electronics manufacturing. Supported by a robust partnership strategy, the Co-NECT platform not only includes the widest library of machine interfaces available within the SMT industry, but also provides unparalleled access to the best and most complete data sources for any machine brand and model.
In addition to the technical advantages of Co-NECT, Cogiscan’s latest connectivity-as-a-service (CaaS) business model is flexible and risk-free. This offering, developed in response to post-COVID market trends, will enable Jabil to quickly scale the scope of their connectivity solution while remaining open to future technological developments.
“We are very proud to be part of Jabil’s digital factory initiative. Jabil was already recognized as leading the way for digital transformation in our industry; and now, they are taking the necessary steps to further increase their competitive edge. This investment demonstrates that our Co-NECT technology is a critical part of the puzzle for electronic manufacturers that want to accelerate digital transformation,” says François Monette, chief business development officer, Cogiscan.
