From Silos to Systems: 2026 and Beyond
Welcome to the debut issue of I-Connect007 Magazine. This publication brings all of the pieces together from PCB design and fabrication for a closer alignment and a more integrated electronics manufacturing landscape.
Designing Proper Work-Life Balance
In this issue, we hear from designers, marketers, and business owners on how they apply their professional skills to their personal lives to build a healthier work-life balance.
Designing Proper Planes
Without planes, designers would have to create thousands of traces to accomplish the same objectives. Power planes provide low impedance and stable power, and ground planes stabilize reference voltage, improve thermal performance, and help preclude EMI issues.

XDry Announces 15th Anniversary of Pioneering Humidity-Controlled Storage
January 6, 2023 | XDry Corp.Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
XDry Corp., a leading supplier of humidity-controlled storage cabinets for electronic manufacturing, laboratories and preservation, celebrates its 15-year anniversary in 2023. Founder Kevin McCarten was an early pioneer in the design of humidity-controlled storage – also known as auto-electronic desiccator storage cabinets.
Today, the company has a corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas, with authorized distributors in Bangkok, Thailand and all of Europe. XDry’s cabinet environment can be maintained from ambient to 1% RH, providing constant and stable storage at precisely the required RH level. XDry storage cabinets satisfy standards such as IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 and IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020.
“Fifteen years is a great accomplishment, but knowing our first-year dry storage cabinets are still in operation is an even bigger one,” stated Scott Fillebrown, President of XDry. “We have made great strides in the last couple years with US based inventory and a spare parts depot that typically ships the same day. We are excited to see what the next 15 years will hold.”
As a dry cabinet manufacturer, XDry offers a wide selection of dry cabinets to choose from, including storage for printed circuit boards, moisture sensitive devices (MSD), optics, laboratory equipment, industrial equipment, collectables, media and more.

PEDC: Built for the Design Community by the Design Community
02/05/2026 | Peter Tranitz, Global Electronics AssociationThe Pan-European Electronics Design Conference (PEDC) was developed to provide Europe’s electronics design community with a non-commercial, Pan-European, technologically advanced forum. PEDC 2026 delivered exactly that. This second edition of the conference brought together 130 participants from 23 countries across Europe and beyond for two days of technical exchange, discussion, and connection. Hosted by the Global Electronics Association and Fachverband Elektroniksdesign und-fertigung e.V. (F.E.D)., and supported by Altium, Siemens, and Zuken, the event featured three technical tracks, 36 presentations, three keynotes, and a group of exhibitors.

I-Connect007 Editor’s Choice: Five Must-Reads for the Week
01/30/2026 | Marcy LaRont, I-Connect007It’s the last week of January, and it’s been pretty cold outside. That’s the best time to hunker down and catch up on your reading. Here are my top five must-reads for this week. All eyes continue to be on advanced electronics processes and packaging technology, which are highlighted in Pete Starkey’s review of the ICT winter conference in the UK, as well as Nolan Johnson’s article on inflection points, and Kris Moyer’s look forward into what will be important for PCB designers in 2026 and beyond. Candor Industries’ Sunny Patel discusses “Normalizing the Impossible” in his look forward, and Mike Jouppi contributes with his critical look at what IPC-2152 does not cover.
