EWPTE 2025: Wire Processing Innovation Driving Technical Dialogue
May 13, 2025 | Brittany Martin, I-Connect007Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
From cutting-edge automation to advanced testing and harness assembly solutions, the 2025 Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE) delivered a packed exhibit floor, robust technical programming, and valuable peer-to-peer connections.
Held at Baird Center in Milwaukee, the event brought together engineers, product managers, manufacturing leaders, and technical specialists from across the country to explore the latest wire and cable processing technology.
The exhibit hall featured industry-leading suppliers showcasing live demos of equipment and systems for crimping, cutting, stripping, testing, and quality assurance. Exhibitors reported steady traffic and high-quality interactions throughout the two-day show.
For some exhibitors, the value of the show was measured in decades. “This marks our 27th year exhibiting at EWPTE,” said Eric Harter, product manager at Dynalab, which has been part of this show since the company was founded. “It remains a key event for us because it consistently delivers qualified leads from a targeted audience. The attendees we meet here are serious technical decision-makers.”
Many attendees came with specific purchasing goals. “We’re in the market for custom wire harness equipment, and having the opportunity to connect directly with leading suppliers like Komax and Schleuniger helped accelerate our evaluation process,” said Michelle Beck, engineering technician at Micro-Trak.
Technical engagement extended well beyond the buzz of the show floor. Engineers, managers, and technicians gathered in conference rooms to exchange ideas and sharpen their expertise. The event’s professional development courses and technical conference created space for deeper exploration into challenges and solutions around standards implementation, process optimization, and workforce development. Whether troubleshooting production issues or preparing teams for certification, attendees left with practical strategies they could bring back to their operations.
Stefan Flower, process engineer at Intervala, found the sessions highly relevant. “One that stood out was ‘Proven Practices for Training and Certification Success’ with Carlos Plaza from IPC,” he said. “It provided actionable insights on how to better train our wire harness team and improve production reliability.”
Zuken, a longtime EWPTE exhibitor, emphasized the show’s unique ability to bring together serious buyers and industry influencers under one roof. Amy Clements, director of marketing & communications at Zuken, noted that the event consistently attracts decision-makers actively exploring solutions, not just browsing. “It’s a valuable opportunity to engage directly with customers, prospects, and long-time industry colleagues, all in one place,” she said. For companies like Zuken, the focused audience and high-quality interactions make EWPTE a strategic event for building relationships and generating meaningful leads.
As the industry faces increasing demand for automation, data integration, and skilled labor, EWPTE remains a critical platform for exploring emerging solutions.
Save the date: EWPTE returns to Milwaukee in 2026, with the conference May 5–7 and the exhibition May 6–7.
