Signing the agreement further cements a partnership that started in 2024, when Neways made its first contribution to the design and industrialization of modules and control cabinets for QUADRA, Nearfield Instruments’ system for automated in-line 3D scanning probe semiconductor metrology. Since then, QUADRA has seen a steady roll out of systems, shipped to leading semiconductor manufacturers, who benefit from unprecedented accuracy in their process control.
Neways supplies a wide range of electronics to QUADRA, ranging from electronic units for the overall controls of the QUADRA system, to critical electronic parts for the sensors that manage the probes in the heart of the machine. Beyond production, Neways engineers bring expertise in key technology domains around power, data, and control systems, as well as experienced support in industrialization.
Hans Buthker, CEO of Neways, comments: “We are very proud to partner with Nearfield Instruments as their supplier of essential electronics for a revolutionary technology in semiconductor manufacturing. Every day, we put forward the combination of our deep technological expertise and our decades-long experience in serving the semicon sector, to make this partnership a great success.”
Hamed Sadeghian, CEO of Nearfield Instruments, adds: “Collaboration with our suppliers is essential to strengthening Europe’s position in the global semiconductor landscape. At Nearfield Instruments, we see ourselves as a driving force in this innovation ecosystem, bringing together advanced research, breakthrough technologies, and leading European suppliers to enable solutions like QUADRA. By working closely with partners across the value chain, we are not only accelerating the future of chip manufacturing, but also reinforcing Europe’s strategic role in the digital era.”
