Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.

Technica USA & WISE Hold Inaugural APEX Go-Kart Grand Prix
March 27, 2026 | Technica USAEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Technica USA, in collaboration with long-time partner WISE s.r.l., hosted an exciting and spirited team-building event during last week’s APEX Expo at K1 Speed Anaheim.
Amid a busy schedule of booth setup, customer meetings, and industry networking, members of Technica’s service team and WISE’s on-site representatives came together to organize the inaugural APEX Go-Kart Grand Prix, an evening dedicated to camaraderie, competition, and collaboration.
The event builds on a tradition established by WISE during previous Productronica exhibitions in Munich, Germany. Led by Wise’s management team, WISE has hosted similar races that quickly became a highlight of the week. Passerini, CEO of Wise, who claimed victory at both prior events, entered the Anaheim race with a reputation to defend.
Despite fierce competition and a field eager to challenge the reigning champion, Passerini once again demonstrated his driving prowess, securing first place and reinforcing his status as the event’s unofficial international champion. Finishing closely behind were Riccardo Santini of Wise in second place and Herbert Ng of Technica in third.
Beyond the track, the APEX Expo proved highly productive for both organizations. Over the course of the three-day event, Technica and its supplier partners engaged in meaningful discussions and explored new opportunities across the PCB fabrication and PCB assembly markets. Wise also drew significant attention to Technica’s booth with an engaging virtual reality experience. The demonstration highlighted how Wise leverages advanced technologies to design more effective equipment for next-generation PCB applications, while improving efficiency in chemical and water usage and maintaining a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
“The Grand Prix was a fantastic way to strengthen relationships and bring some fun to an otherwise demanding week,” said Julian Zaragoza of Technica. “We’re already looking forward to next year’s rematch.”
Technica USA and WISE looks forward to returning to APEX next year, both to build on their business momentum and to continue the now-established tradition of friendly competition on the track.
