Zhen Ding Technology Holding Limited, the world's leading PCB manufacturer, announced that it has partnered with National Central University (NCU) and three industry partners, including Elite Material, Ta Liang Technology, and Topoint Technology, to establish the “Advanced PCB Talent Development Program.” A signing ceremony was held on October 19 to mark the launch of this initiative. Zhen Ding and the three industry partners will jointly invest NT$60 million to bring together NCU's interdisciplinary research capabilities and industry resources, establishing a long-term platform for industry-academia collaboration. The initiative will focus on cultivating talent in high-end PCB technologies and laying a strong foundation for the industry's sustainable growth in the AI era.
The signing ceremony was attended by Taoyuan Mayor San-Cheng Chang, representatives from universities and colleges in the Taoyuan area, the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA), and participating industry partners, demonstrating a shared commitment among government, industry, and academia to developing advanced PCB talent and supporting the next phase of technological advancement. During the ceremony, NCU President Shu-San Hsiau noted that the rapid advancement of AI servers, high-performance computing (HPC), and advanced packaging technologies is driving the PCB industry’s transition toward advanced materials, precision manufacturing processes, and smart manufacturing. As a result, talent development and technological innovation have become critical to maintaining industry competitiveness.
According to Zhen Ding, the rapid advancement of AI applications is raising the bar for PCB materials, manufacturing processes, and cross-disciplinary integration capabilities. Skilled professionals have therefore become essential to supporting technological advancement and large-scale mass production across the industry. In recent years, Zhen Ding has actively advanced its technological capabilities in high-end PCBs and IC substrates while continuing to expand its global production capacity, further increasing its demand for advanced technical expertise and interdisciplinary talent. The establishment of the “Advanced PCB Talent Development Program” represents an important step in bringing together industry and academic resources to build a stronger talent pipeline for the PCB industry's long-term development.
The program will focus on three core pillars: talent development, collaborative R&D, and sustainable operations. In terms of talent development, the program will introduce a specialized credit-based curriculum in advanced PCB technologies, integrating industry-led courses, research projects, and internships to establish a comprehensive pathway from academic education to employment. On the R&D front, industry partners will identify key technological needs and collaborate with NCU’s interdisciplinary research teams across engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science, and artificial intelligence to conduct joint R&D and technology validation. This approach reflects the principle that talent development and R&D should reinforce one another, integrating research into education and talent development into research, while fostering continuous advancement in both talent and technology through long-term collaboration.
Zhen Ding emphasized that talent development is fundamental to the industry's long-term success and requires sustained commitment from both academia and industry. As a global leader in the PCB industry, Zhen Ding aims to leverage this collaboration to strengthen industry connections and resource integration, foster closer alignment among talent development, technological innovation, and industry needs, and create further opportunities for industry-academia partnerships. Looking ahead, Zhen Ding will continue to strengthen its interdisciplinary talent development and R&D efforts, working closely with industry and academic partners to enhance the PCB industry’s technological capabilities and global competitiveness while jointly capitalizing on the long-term growth opportunities presented by the AI era.
