Lite-On Technology Posts Consolidated Sales of NT$17.9B for August
September 14, 2015 | Lite-On TechnologyEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Taiwan-based EMS firm Lite-On Technology has reported consolidated revenues of NT$17.9 billion ($550.67 million) for August, up by 2% from the previous month, but a decrease of 7% year-on-year due to the lukewarm ICT demand worldwide. Cumulative sales for January to August totaled NT$138.59 billion ($4.26 billion).
The Optoelectronics business segment contributed 25% of Lite-On’s overall revenue, with a sales growth of approximately 10% month-on-month. This growth is mainly attributable to moderate demand for LED products, coupled with a nearly 20% on-month revenue increase for the camera module business, resulting from high-end camera module shipment growth supported by the launches of new smartphone models onto the end market.
The Information Technologies business segment accounted for 50% of sales. The power systems business' August revenue grew by 10% YoY as a result of increases in global demand for server power management systems in cloud computing applications, mobile devices and game consoles, while the enclosures segment posted a revenue growth of over 10% YoY driven by shipment growths of high-end server enclosure products.
The Storage business segment accounted for 15% of total revenue as a result of declining end-demand for PC applications worldwide, while maintaining the same revenue level as last month.
