April 22, 2016 | IEC Electronics Corp.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
IEC Electronics Corp. will mark its 50th anniversary with several events throughout 2016, including Founder’s Day recognition at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Newark, New York as well as celebrations later this year at each of its facilities in Newark and Rochester, New York, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Founded by Roger Main in 1966, IEC Electronics began as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), designing and selling products such as frequency counters and portable transceivers. Today, IEC specializes in providing electronic manufacturing services (EMS) for life-saving and mission critical products such as encrypted satellite communication systems, automated external defibrillators, and ruggedized industrial controls. Employing over 800 people within the US, the company utilizes its vertical manufacturing and advanced engineering capabilities to solve complex challenges and minimize supply chain risk for its customers.
Jeffrey T. Schlarbaum, president and CEO, commented, “As we celebrate our 50th year in operation, we are making an effort to not only commemorate IEC’s history, but also its evolution and its path for the future. IEC was started as an OEM in the communications and instrumentation field and entered into the EMS industry supporting home entertainment and computers. Over the last 10 years we have transformed the business by focusing on the high reliability, advanced technology segments that demand a sophisticated level of manufacturing. Today, the Company is well-positioned with an extremely talented employee base, state-of-the-art technology and a blue chip customer base. I am excited for our future and feel confident in the strength of our team to continue to uphold IEC’s reputation as a leader in the complex electronics industry.”
