SMTC Receives Customer Value Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan
January 7, 2016 | SMTC CorporationEstimated reading time: 3 minutes
Based on its recent analysis of the electronic manufacturing services market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes SMTC Corporation with the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership. SMTC has achieved true excellence in the electronic manufacturing services space by employing best practices, providing end-to-end solutions, offering excellent and timely customer service, and clearly understanding unique customer needs.
SMTC combines key expertise in design, value engineering, transition management, global supply chain management, procurement engineering and lean manufacturing to enable seamless client integration with SMTC's global manufacturing footprint. These services enhance customer value through:
- Lower lead time and material costs
- Improved assembly, coverage and final yield
- Decreased labor content and field failures
- Reduced engineering development and resource needs, and hence, quick time to market
- Enhanced production stability and predictability
"The company engages with and delivers value to its customers at every stage of the product lifecycle," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Manager Aravind Seshagiri. "SMTC assesses costs, functions, program schedules and overall requirements of the design and manufacturing process, and works shoulder to shoulder with customers to identify, prioritize and implement opportunities for cost reduction."
SMTC's early involvement in the design cycle facilitates the development of products with increased manufacturability, quality, reliability and a longer lifecycle. Moreover, SMTC can gain a true understanding of customer needs. SMTC understands the stringent requirements of niche markets such as the medical industry, as well as high-volume domains like consumer electronics. The company's efficient processes have also allowed it to meet the rising demand for outsourcing in newer fields such as aerospace and defense.
As a result, SMTC has grown rapidly in a market characterized by an abundance of competition, but more importantly, it has helped its customers grow. Through an acute focus on superior customer service and quality, SMTC is proving to be the ideal choice for high-, mid- and low-volume customers.
"We are an EMS leader in making quality our top operational focus," said Sushil Dhiman, SMTC's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are extremely proud of our success of new product launches, our culture of exceptional customer service and implementing custom solutions for our customers."
In addition, the company has been successful in terms of customer retention. The organization’s partnership model that provides not only manufacturing, but also engineering and design solutions ensures true integration and long-term relationships with customers. This continuous support has gained SMTC the reputation of a "one-stop shop" that eliminates the hassles of working with multiple providers for each stage of production.
"SMTC's end-to-end services equip its customers with the flexibility and agility to effectively respond to the dynamics of today's electronics industry," noted Seshagiri. "Thus, SMTC Corporation has set the bar for superior customer service and has positioned itself for further growth in 2016 and beyond."
"SMTC has developed a culture of connecting transparent, flexible, and responsive solutions at a high velocity with technical depth which differentiates us from the competition," explains Josh Chien, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in customer values through its products and services that offer superior value to customers and aid them with increased profitability and reduced life cycle costs. The recipient company has continually focused on providing value-added products and services, addressing the changing customer needs across the industry, thereby enabling them to expand their customer base across verticals and horizontals. In addition, the recipient company has shown unparalleled commitment to lead on technological innovations pertaining to changing customer needs by offering products that are specific to both general and niche applications.
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research.
