IEC Electronics to Present at SMTAI

Mark Northrup, vice president of technology at EMS firm IEC Electronics Corp., will present on reliability predictors and performance based acceptance testing at the upcoming SMTA International conference, which will be held next week, from September 25–29, 2016, in Rosemont, Illinois.
The presentation titled "Comparison of Chemical Data vs. Electrical Data Is One a Better CAF Reliability Predictor?" is scheduled for 11:30am of September 28, while the presentation "Acceptance Via Performance – Performance Based Acceptance Testing for Via Structures" is scheduled for 5pm of the same day.

The transition from predominantly water wash processes to "no clean" has meant the advent of very different flux compositions. The question has been posed as to whether the ROSE test is still a viable option for evaluating PCB and PCBA cleanliness.
