Taiwan-based Unimicron and Nan Ya PCB have both seen revenues for the third quarter of 2019 reach high levels thanks to robust shipments of ABF substrates, and the growth momentum is expected to persist into the fourth quarter of the year.
Unimicron's third-quarter revenues rose by 7.3% on year to NT$22.95 billion ($749.47 million), the second highest-ever quarterly level, and its January-September revenues soared 8.53% on year to NT$59.96 billion.
For Nan Ya, the networking application segment has also absorbed the largest portion of its ABF substrate shipments, with chipmakers Broadcom and HiSilicon among its major clients for such substrates. Nan Ya saw its revenues for the quarter surge by 6.49% from a year earlier to NT$8.43 billion, the highest quarterly level in five years, and revenues for the first nine months of the year gained 5.88% to reach NT$22.32 billion.
