Arlon EMD, a division of Elite Materials Company (EMC), announces a factory expansion at the Rancho Cucamonga, CA location. Arlon is a global leader in high performance thermoset substrates for mission critical printed circuit boards manufactured for high endurance and long-life programs. Arlon has a 45-year history of manufacturing specialty materials for the Aerospace, Industrial and Military (AIM) markets.
EMC is the world’s largest manufacture of halogen-free and HDI copper clad laminates, with operating plants in Taiwan and China, and a new factory currently being built in Penang, Malaysia. The Penang factory is targeted to begin operations in late 2024.
EMC acquired Arlon EMD in 2020 and has continued to invest in the operation. The newest facility expansion and factory upgrades include two prepreg treaters and a press line. The targeted operation date for this expansion is early 2025 in California. This expansion will allow a larger portfolio of products to be manufactured in North America with an eye on responsiveness to this market as well as risk mitigation and capacity surge mitigation.
Arlon and EMC partnered with Insulectro in September of 2023, locking up the best service provider and positioning the companies to be the most capable provider of copper clad laminates and prepreg in the North American market.
