The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) held its 12th Board of Directors election, membership meeting, and benchmarking forum on March 18, 2025, with over 300 member representatives participating. The event featured discussions on navigating global challenges, including geopolitical shifts, net-zero carbon emissions, and international market dynamics.
Outgoing Chairman Li Changming reflected on his two terms, acknowledging the industry's resilience in facing challenges from the pandemic to evolving international landscapes. The forum addressed the impact of US-China strategic competition and potential risks under a "Trump 2.0" scenario, featuring insights from experts at the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, National Taiwan University, and McKinsey Taiwan.
The fiercely contested election resulted in the selection of 21 directors and 7 supervisors from a diverse pool of candidates, including board, equipment, material, and recycling facilities companies. Notably, the election saw increased participation from female and younger candidates, bringing fresh perspectives to the association. Following the election, Yuan-Ming Chang of Yaohua Electronics Co., Ltd. was elected Chairman, and You Xinji of Yutaihe Co., Ltd. was appointed Executive Supervisor.
Chairman Chang expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the critical juncture facing Taiwan's PCB industry. He outlined three key priorities: strengthening supply chain resilience through collaboration, expanding international market reach and technological cooperation, and enhancing technology research and development along with information security. The association will focus on promoting industrial integration, participating in international affairs, and driving innovation in areas like smart manufacturing and advanced packaging.
TPCA aims to serve as a vital industry bridge, integrating government, business, and international resources to support the continued growth and global competitiveness of Taiwan's PCB industry.
