LiU and Siemens Energy Enter Into Strategic Partnership
April 1, 2025 | Linköping UniversityEstimated reading time: 1 minute
In order to find long-term solutions to future challenges in the energy field, Linköping University and Siemens Energy AB sign a strategic partnership agreement.
Linköping University (LiU) already has agreements with eight strategic partners: Linköping Municipality, Norrköping Municipality, Region Östergötland, Tekniska verken, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), ABB Sweden, Ericsson and Saab. The agreement with Siemens Energy AB, headquartered in Finspång, will be the ninth, consolidating the good relations between the university and the company.
“During LiU’s 50-year history, collaboration with the surrounding society and industry has been an important key to our success. Strategic partners help us design relevant education and carry out excellent research. We are now very pleased to sign yet another agreement, this time with Siemens Energy AB, which has a strong position in a very important area,” says Vice-Chancellor Jan-Ingvar Jönsson at Linköping University.
“Our collaboration will be based on Siemens Energy’s strategic roadmap and LiU’s cutting-edge research, particularly in areas such as energy technology, digitalisation and sustainable development. We will also have access to important research infrastructure and an established innovation system,” says CEO Hans Holmström at Siemens Energy AB.
The agreement between LiU and Siemens Energy AB will further strengthen this collaboration and enable an even more attractive career path for LiU students and doctoral students within a global company in the energy sector. With this, LiU and Siemens Energy AB can strengthen critical areas of expertise for the benefit of both parties and contribute to global energy transition.
