American Standard Circuits to Exhibit and Host Lunch & Learn at PCB West 2025
September 17, 2025 | American Standard CircuitsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Anaya Vardya, President, and CEO of American Standard Circuits/ASC Sunstone Circuits has announced that his company will once again be exhibiting at PCB West 2025 to be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
This year, ASC will host a Lunch and Learn on Thursday, October 2nd. In this session, Matt Stevenson and Vitaly Michalchuk will delve into the critical intersection of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), with a focused lens on prototyping:
- DFM Considerations: Understanding how board layout, material selection, and variant flexibility impact early-stage manufacturability while maintaining quality and speed.
- DFA Insights: Exploring strategies to simplify assembly for fast-turn prototypes—covering aspects such as part placement, solder paste optimization, and pick-and-place setup to eliminate rework and callbacks.
- SMT Optimization Techniques: Mike shares hands-on tactics and real-world examples in SMT prototyping, emphasizing process efficiency and yield improvements.
- Scaling to Production: The speakers highlight the crucial bridge from prototype to production: refining design and manufacturing methods to ensure seamless scale-up without compromise.
- Risk Mitigation & Best Practices: Attendees will learn how to proactively identify common DFM/DFA pitfalls early in design, enabling faster time-to-market and robust prototype success.
The lunch and learn will run from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is available to Thursday conference attendees only.
Vardya noted, “This is one of our favorite shows. It gives us the opportunity to meet with our Northern California customers and designers from all over the country. I think being able to participate in a Lunch & Learn is one of the best ways to introduce ASC Sunstone to engineers and designers, allowing us to tell our story and share our knowledge.”
Be sure to visit American Standard Circuits/ASC Sunstone on the show floor in booth 607.

The Shaughnessy Report: Watt About Power Integrity?
10/08/2025 | Andy Shaughnessy -- Column: The Shaughnessy ReportYes, that headline is the equivalent of a dad joke, but editors can’t pass up a chance to inject a little humor into a headline, and I had to take my shot. Power integrity (PI) problems are no joke. Current power demands are increasing, especially with AI, 5G, and EV chips, which can lead to voltage drops that kill your performance.
New Fil Arzola Class: Designing for the Future, and for Sustainability
10/07/2025 | Andy Shaughnessy, I-Connect007If you have not yet taken a class from Fil Arzola, you are missing out. In late October, Fil will be teaching the class "Building Sustainable Model-Based PCBs," speaking from the design perspective. I had the pleasure of catching this course at last year's IPC APEX EXPO, and I walked away with a lot to think about. I asked Fil to discuss his upcoming course. Registration is open now.
American Standard Circuits to Exhibit at SMTA International
10/06/2025 | American Standard CircuitsAnaya Vardya, President, and CEO of American Standard Circuits/ASC Sunstone Circuits has announced that his company will once again exhibit at SMTA International 2025 to be held at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois on October 19th through the 23rd, 2025.
Elementary Mr. Watson: Chasing Checkmarks, Not Signal Integrity
10/01/2025 | John Watson -- Column: Elementary, Mr. WatsonFor the September 2025 issue of Design007 Magazine on signal integrity, I explored how the PCB is similar to a military obstacle course: walls that sap energy like impedance mismatches, barbed wire that cuts like crosstalk, and mud pits that drag a signal down like attenuation. The takeaway was clear that a PCB is not a flat drawing; it's an electromagnetic ecosystem filled with hazards that test every signal that dares to cross it. The real danger lies not in the obstacles themselves, but in the fact that many designers never see them.
Target Condition: Rethinking the PCB Stackup Recipe
10/01/2025 | Kelly Dack -- Column: Target ConditionMarie Antoinette is attributed with saying, “Let them eat cake,” but historians now agree she likely never said it. It was probably revolutionary propaganda to paint her as out of touch with the starving masses. Yet, the phrase still lingers, and oddly enough, it applies to the world of PCB design.
