Neways Electronics International N.V. announces the appointment of Mr Gerben Edelijn as a member of its Supervisory Board effective 22 September 2026. Mr Edelijn succeeds Mrs Katja Kok-Keizer, who steps down following the completion of her term. The appointment strengthens the Supervisory Board’s expertise as Neways continues to grow its activities in high-tech end markets, including defense and semiconductor.
Mr Edelijn brings extensive leadership experience in the international high-tech and defense industry. He spent 36 years at Thales, including 16 years as CEO of Thales Netherlands, a leading supplier of mission-critical defense and security systems to navies and armed forces worldwide. During his tenure, he led the company through a period of significant growth and development and held responsibility for the global Above Water Systems business line, which supplies radar and combat management systems to naval forces internationally. His deep, decades-long track record in defense technology and the broader high-tech sector will further strengthen the Supervisory Board’s expertise as Neways continues to grow across its end markets.
Mr Edelijn studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente. He is a member of the Dutch Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (AWTI) and serves on the supervisory boards of Oost NL and RH Marine Netherlands, a marine systems integrator active in the defense sector.
Mrs Kok-Keizer has been a member of the Neways Supervisory Board since April 2022. During her term, she contributed her broad international experience in the financial sector, senior leadership and organizational transformation to the supervision and further development of Neways.

Following this appointment, the Supervisory Board of Neways consists of Mr Richard Govers (Chairman), Mr Frank van Roij, Mr Erwin Riefel and Mr Gerben Edelijn.
