The Shaughnessy Report: Pentad Adds PCB Design--And Profits
In 2007 Pentad Design, an Orange County, California design bureau specializing in embedded and mechanical engineering, decided to add PCB design services. Managers told the PCB design group they didn't expect a profit in the first year. But within a year, PCB design proved to be quite profitable after all. Program Manager Patti Crone and Senior PCB Designer Kathy Treat explain how their new design department hit the ground running, and why service bureaus may be the big winners in a declining economy.
