OCM Manufacturing Now Offers Flying Probe Electronics Test Services
May 13, 2016 | OCM ManufacturingEstimated reading time: 1 minute
OCM Manufacturing, a leading electronics contract manufacturer in the low-to-mid-volume, high-mix space, today announced the launch of a new electronics test service, Flying Probe Test. The company is offering the new capability as a standalone service and as part of its turnkey electronics manufacturing services.
George Henning, President at OCM Manufacturing, said: "Our investment in flying probe test equipment and personnel is a response to market need and customer demand, as we see more and more complex PCB designs, as well as more prototype work. It rounds out our menu of test services, which also includes automated optical inspection (AOI), functional test, and X-ray inspection."
Flying probe test is particularly valuable for electronic assemblies with many components, with densely placed components, and those that require high reliability. It is also ideal for testing prototype boards and low-volume production runs, as well as in situations where fast turnaround is required on test programs and test results. It is a cost-effective test method for designs that are in flux and need to be quickly re-spun.
The new test service is delivered using a new SPEA 4050 S2 test machine, which offers very fast probe speed, accuracy, and repeatability for boards up to a maximum size of 500x400mm.
