Has developed a new flexible e-paper display. It can change the colors by simple switching between white, black and red.
2. AIST (Major R&D organization in Japan) 3/8
Has developed a new heater material with nano-coils made on carbon nano tube. IR laser irradiation generates uniform heat in the material.
3. NEDO (Major R&D organization in Japan) 3/10
Has co-developed a new catalyst sheet for the artificial photosynthesis process with Tokyo Univ. and TOTO. It accelerates the hydrogen generation from lighting.
4. Toyota Motors (Major automobile manufacturer in Japan) 3/14
Has started a field test of hydrogen fuel cell with forklift trucks. The hydrogen is generated by wind power without generation of carbon dioxide.
5. Taiyo Yuden (Major device manufacturer in Japan) 3/15
Has rolled out a new metallic power inductor series “MCOIL MB Series” for mobile equipment with a small package of 1.6 x 0.8 x 1.0 mm.
6. Mitsubishi Material (Major material supplier in Japan) 3/16
Has developed a new recycling process for rare earth elements with a purification technology. The process gets the rare earth from home appliances with high yield.
7. Toshiba (Major electric and electronics company in Japan) 3/17
Will invest 360 billion yens for next three years to expand the manufacturing capacity of flash memory devices.
8. AIST (Major R&D organization in Japan) 3/18
Has developed a new piezo material from aluminum nitride with a high Q value adding Mg and Nb. It does not need expensive rare earth.
9. Tohoku University (Japan) 3/22
Has co-developed a new magnetic memory device with high response speed introducing spintronics technology.
10. Euglena (Chemical company in Japan) 3/22
Has co-developed a new extraction process of fuel oil from botanical oils without hydrogenation.
